A sweet deal-Take 40% off at Banana Republic
Banana Republic is showing us some love today. Kind of like asking us to be their Valentine. But, not really, because they’re asking for our money. Wait, would that make BR our Valentine, because that would be more like a gift for them? Think I need to slow down on the coffee. Regardless, today only (2/14), use code BRLOVE at checkout from BananaRepublic.com and it will take 40% off up to two full priced items, or you can head in store for the deal. If you do shop online, free shipping kicks in at $50, and you can return in store for free. There are a few exceptions to the code, like blazers (kay, I can handle that), cashmere (you do know it’s Valentine’s Day, right BR?), and leather (awe, come on!). But outside those exceptions, there are plenty of lovely garments, accessories, and shoes to choose from. Let’s take a look at a few…
Textured Cotton Pencil Skirt – $53.70 ($89.50) & Chevron Ponte Peplum Top – $29.70 ($49.50)
This combo incorporates color for spring, but also the black & white trend that we keep seeing. The chevron stripes on the top create slimming lines, and the peplum will fall down over the pleats on the skirt if they create a little bit a pooch. Those little pintuck pleats on the skirt are very feminine though, don’t be afraid to try them. Some nude or black heels or wedges and a bauble or two will complete this look.
Belted Ponte Sheath – $78 ($130) & Bloom Necklace – $29.70 ($49.50)
Yellow and blue go together like peanut butter & jelly, Sonny & Cher, baby sloth vidoes and the Ask A Woman column. And tonal blues go great together too! The darker navy married with the robins egg blue in the bloom necklace is really striking, and paired with that yellow ponte sheath, you get a great springtime look. Perfect for Easter brunch or a Derby party, perhaps? The dress is also available in royal purple.
City Chino – $41.70 ($69.50) & Floral Silk Pintuck Blouse – $53.70 ($89.50)
For a really bright springtime look, pair some brightly hued pants, like the vermilion city chinos shown above, with a printed shirt that incorporates the pant color. If the pants are too bright for your sensibilities, you can pair the top shown above with blue, as seen in the photo, for a stunning look. And lucky you, the City Chinos just happen to come in navy. The silk floral blouse incorporates gorgeous colors, and a feminine, open neckline with a pintuck surrounded placket on the front. Do you love the print but think it’s too much on a shirt? It comes in scarf form as well.
Milania – $72 ($120) & Julia Scarf – $35.70 ($59.50) & Blake Tote – $47.70 ($79.50)
I would be remiss if I didn’t include some shoes in the picks! The Milania high heel sandal can be seen in use in the city chinos pic above. A nice pair of neutral sandals with a bit of visual interest in the toe straps. The heel is chunkier as well, making them easier to walk in. If you’re in the market for a new tote, the Blake Tote is a really good deal today, and comes in four different colors. BR has a great collection of beautiful warm weather scarves right now, with the pictured Julia Floral Scarf being no exception. You could pair all of these with this dress.
Abby Ballet Flats – $47.40 ($79) & Gumdrop Stud Earrings – $17.70 ($29.50)
Mint seems to always be a popular color come spring, and these Abby flats are a good way to incorporate it, even with a t-shirt and jeans. Mint not your color? These flats are also available in orange and black. Just a heads up on BR flats, Carlie and Ashley flats are excluded from the code. Those Gumdrop Post earrings are really fun, and will tip you over the $50 free shipping threshold if you want the flats but don’t want to pay for shipping, although your total would be cheaper with the just the flats and shipping. But hey, why not get some cute earrings at a discounted price while you can?
Code BRLOVE will take 40% of two regular priced items, expires 2/14/13 at 11:59pm eastern. Discount also applies in store. Happy Shopping!
