Would you Dare to Wear Color It In from Kate Spade?

If you’re feeling the need to get a bit artistic with your clothing, Kate Spade Saturday might have the fix for you.  An interesting concept, Kate Spade has released a line of “Color It In” clothing, accessories, and shoes on Saturday.com.

Color It In

Choose from a tote, weekender, sneakers, scarf, pants, dress, tops, wallet, or pillow.  If you purchase one of these, which range in price from $25 to $180, you can also purchase the fabric markers ($15), and create your own color pattern within the windowpane blocks.  So I’m going to pay $85 for a shirt, and color it in with fabric markers?  It think if I pay $85 for a shirt, it’s staying black & white windowpane.  Knowing the perfectionist I can be, if I colored outside the lines once, I might have a meltdown and send the shirt packing to a thrift store.  Perhaps not, but it seems like a lot of money and effort for an expensive garment.

What do you think about this concept?  Would you take the time to color in all those little squares?  Would you pay $15 extra for the fabric markers?  Would you dare to wear it?

I would totally go for it with something like the tote or a pillow. With you on the shirt though. I think the concept is pretty cool, but the prices are not.

I really like the window pane pattern all on it’s own…but, $85 for a shirt? I call that getting tricked by a bizness… 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK8mJJJvaes
