Dot Print Top – $41.40 ($69)
This navy blue and green polka dot blouse features a keyhole closure at the back, and shiny material. Great for the office or dressing up a pair of jeans.
Normally such a busy print is not my deal (a reviewer online said the same thing), but I’m drawn to this interesting combination of stripes, flowers, and layered fabrics. Another piece you could dress up or down depending on what you’re wearing on your bottom half.
Simple styling, classic cut, in blue and red. Pair with a blazer for the office, or wear with navy or nude heels to the last of this season’s weddings.
Clean lines and clever nipping at the waist make this a really flattering garment for all body types. I’ve found the Ann Taylor customer reviewers to be really spot on, and everyone is crazy for this dress.
Polka Dot Skirt – $53.40 ($89)
How fun is this swingy, retro-printed skirt? I love the black, white, and cream color combination.
Though the structure of this skirt is formal, the pattern is playful and it’s made with a bit of spandex, so it’s probably pretty comfortable. Pair with a blouse and shoes in any of the colors present in the skirt.
These tuxedo pants are so unusual, I just had to include them. Black contrast trim with what looks to be a pinker khaki as the main color of the pant. AT always has such great styling to their denim, too–check out this super dark wash in a lean cut. A bit of stretch makes these flattering and comfortable.
More of that feminine detailing that we’re seeing so much of for fall. These peeptoes feature lace-like detail around the edge of the shoe, and a tiny buckle. These babies are 4″ high, though, so make sure you’re an expert in teetering before buying. Also available in bordeaux.
I am CRAZY for this type of belt–corset style. I have two of them in my own closet. They’re actually pretty comfortable and flattering on most body types as long as you’re not cinching the belt too tightly. Also, this particular belt has a stretch panel in the back, so it will move with your body–extra comfort. If you have dresses or tops you’ve been wanting to cinch with a belt but there’s too much fabric to contend with, a corset belt covers up a lot of the bagging associated with that. Also available in black.
If you prefer thinner belt, this one above has some fun details, like the gold-tone clasps. Like the one above, this belt also features a stretch panel in the back (and it’s a crazy-good price for real leather).
Bracelets that mix metal links and fabric or thread like tassels, are a huge trend right now. I love how understated this version is, with just a single tassel and a bit o’ bling at the clasp. Below, a vintage-style ID bracelet with some pave sparkle. A great layering piece.
