FC Review: Burt’s Bees Ultimate Hand Care Cream

Burt'sBeesUltimateHandCareCreamI’m very hard on my hands. I paint my nails (and remove nail polish) several times a week–all that acetone really dries out my cuticles. I have a couple slobbery dogs which means I’m washing my hands a lot after playing with them. I do most of the cleaning in my house so I’m exposed to a lot of water and soaps. All of this is to say that I’m constantly on the hunt for amazing hand creams. Included in my CEW Mass Appeal Birchbox was a small tube of Burt’s Bees Ultimate Care Hand Cream – $12.99.

I’ve tried other Burt’s Bees products, and I like the concept–all natural, reasonably priced, cute crunchy packaging. This was by far the best Burt’s Bees product I’ve used. It contains no added fragrance but the natural smell from the ingredients is really light and fresh (and temporary, gone within 10 minutes of application). It’s a cream, but it applies like a lotion–easy to smooth onto hands. It absorbs without a trace of oil, within 10 minutes. ¬†And, if I apply at night, in the morning my hands are still soft. It is one of the best, if not THE best, hand creams I’ve used. For fellow nail painter enthusiasts, it’s not a substitute for a cuticle treatment, fyi. You still need to apply an oil or cream specifically for cuticles, to that area. But for hands and fingers, this is a great product and well worth the economical price.

The real test is going to be this coming winter–will it stand up to subzero temps and zero humidity? I hope so!
