FC Review: Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit

Here are the things I gain as I grow older: wisdom, perspective, frequent flier miles, chin hairs. Yes, there are a lot of things I like about aging, but random facial hair is not one of them (although there is something very satisfying about plucking those suckers out). One of the products I’ve used for years and years (maybe 10?) is Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit (for face). I use these strips on and under my chin and around my eyebrows. You could also use them for sideburns, cheeks, upper lip, neck, treasure trail–really any small area with unwanted hair. For larger areas, they make this kit with larger strips.

These strips are two pieces of plastic with a thin layer of wax between (you can see below the strips come in different sizes depending on where on your face you want to use them).

You rub the plastic together in your hands to warm it, then separate the two pieces of plastic.

Apply the pieces to your face, wax side down, and rub to adhere to the hairs. Here I’m waxing to get some of the more fine hairs between my eyebrows:

Pull quickly in the opposite direction of the hair growth, and voila.

I love this product because it’s so easy to use (and at $5.99, very reasonably priced). I don’t do liquid wax at home. In fact, one of my bathroom cabinets has a pool of dried wax in the bottom of it from the last time I tried to use that junk at home. Needless to say, it was not successful. This product has the long-lasting effects of wax (several weeks of fuzz-free face), without the messiness. I recommend using it right after the shower, or washing your face with warm water. It makes the hairs easier to grab and pull by the root (instead of breaking in half).

I can’t recommend this product enough!
