Spring Color: Tangerine Tops
Tangerine is hot this season. As is orange, coral, pomegranate, mango, and every other iteration of shade that falls somewhere between red and yellow on the color wheel. Whatever you deign this season’s IT color to be, below are six picks that will give you a bright pop of tangerine without breaking the bank.
Painter stripe bateau tee – $39.50
This bright gem is available at J. Crew. Boat neck, 3/4 sleeves, and tiny buttons on the shoulders. Classic silhouette in a trendy tone. Available in sizes XXS-XL.
Chic Chevron Cape Top – $49
This chevron design creates a flattering pattern. See how the arrows meet in the middle of the garment, creating a sort of line through the center? It draws the eye up and down, making your midsection appear slimmer. Free (and fast) shipping on orders over $25. Available in sizes small, medium, and large.
Textured Metallic Pleat Top – $49.50
Another boat neck top here. Some stylists say that a boat neck is only flattering on a few body types, but I haven’t found that to be true. Boat necks display your collarbone and give your neck more of a swan-like length. This top also features fabulous horizontal pleats, loose cap sleeves, and a subtle shimmer. Available in sizes XS-L.
Floral Embroidery Tunic – $20.86
This floaty tunic lets you embrace your inner hippie. It features a loose, comfortable fit, with sexy v-neck in front and in back. Embroidered white flowers adorn the bottom front and the shoulders. This orange appears to have some pink in it, making it closer to a coral tone. Available in small and medium sizes.
Emanating Rays Boatneck – $38
Yes! Another boat neck, this one wider than the first two above. This top starts out in a medium orange, and then fades gracefully into a pinky-white. Interesting detailing includes perforations through the center of the top, and then across the bust, and outlining the sleeves.
Rock & Republic Top – $22
Hey, it’s almost summer, time to start thinking about skimpier tops like this halter! The halter is tough to wear. Broad shoulders? You might look like a running back in a halter. Big bust? You might look like Great Aunt Edna in a halter. But for those who love a halter and can wear it with confidence, this is a cute option with a bit o’ bling at the cleavage. Available in limited sizes, just 0-6.
