Do Good – Hand in Hand from Kate Spade

Women For Women is an international organization that aids women who have survived war and other conflicts.  They provide the tools and support to piece their lives back together and become self sufficient, thereby promoting stability and peaceful society.  If you are interested in donating, or even sponsoring a woman, check in out at womenforwomen.org.

Last week Beth gave us a great post about bangle bracelets.  With those being top of mind, I was intrigued by an email I got from Kate Spade New York featuring friendship bangle bracelets, from their Hand In Hand collection, handwoven by women in Afghanistan through the Women For Women Foundation.  These bangles are bright and fun, and more importantly, support women in a country torn apart by war and rampant with oppression.  And there are other products in the Hand in Hand Collection, created in partnership with Women For Women, that are just beautiful.  Here are some of my favorites.

Hand In Hand Friendship Bangle in Green/Blue or Yellow/White – $28.00

To friendship

These friendship bangles are woven by women in Afghanistan.  They were available in more colors, but it looks like the colors shown above are what’s left, and that’s great!  The Kate Spade charm adds just enough shine.

Hand In Hand Circle Tote – $198.00

Bullseye!

I love this bag.  Woven of raffia by women in Rwanda.  Again, Kate Spade adds a fashionable touch with the name plate, but these totes scream fashion on their own.  Also available in pink.

Friendship Bracelet in White, Smoke, Pink, Green, & Aqua – $48.00

Find a color for your BFF

These sweet bracelets were woven in Afghanistan.  They feature glass beads and a Kate Spade charm.  The use of contrasting thread and beads infuses color and life.

Beaded Links Necklace in Turquoise or Yellow – $148.00

Chain, Chain, Chain.....

These necklaces are show stoppers.  Woven seed beads, with a break in color just off center.  Very trendy this year.  Thank you to the Rwandan women that created these!
