Final Review: Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Corrector
Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector – $84.00
It’s been a full month now since I started using Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector. Before we get into the nitty gritty, let’s recall what this correcting elixir claims to do, as stated on Sephora.com:
“More than a wrinkle-corrector, this product is capable of fundamentally re-creating more beautiful skin. The first skincare product with [LR 2412 4%], a molecule designed to propel through skin layers, it triggers a cascading series of micro-transformations along its path. On the surface, wrinkles and pores are visibly corrected. Imperfections like signs of UV damage and acne marks appear diminished.”
After a month of use, I have seen differences in my skin. I’m still not completely convinced this product is worth the price, but let’s go over the changes I’ve seen first. I have definitely noticed lightening of my acne scars.

Before using Lancome Visionnaire
The picture on right shows the scaring on my chin from acne. This is definitely one of my breakout zones on a regular, well, let’s say monthly basis. I can’t say the scars really bothered me, but there’s nothing like taking a closeup photo to make you realize you’ve got them!
The lighting is different in this after picture, but you can still see the difference in coloration of my scars. Now the picture on the left, that’s a different story. I’ve not noticed any difference in my sun damage spots. In fact, they’ve become a bit darker, but that’s due to the time of the year (like a cat I seek out the sun). Will using Visionnaire for a longer period of time help fade that damage? That remains to be seen. I’ve only been using it for just over 30 days, and I still have just under a half bottle remaining.
I didn’t notice much difference in pore size. Here and there I noticed some shrinkage, but overall there has not been a big change. I have noticed a change in the brightness and clarity of my skin. As far as wrinkles, I’m a lucky ducky that didn’t have too many to begin with, so I can’t say that’s a change I was monitoring particularly closely. There are reviews on Sephora’s website from women in their late 30′s-40′s that state they’ve seen benefits for wrinkles.
One unexpected benefit I came across; it’s great for healing cold sores. Unfortunately, from time to time, I have cold sores pop up. And I happened to get one in the past month. I have to say, I’ve never had a cold sore heal up as fast, and the scar diminish as quickly, as I have before using this serum. This is NOT a benefit claim listed by Lancome. And the sore I used it on developed just off my lip, so I wasn’t actually smearing the skin corrector on my lips. I’m not recommending this product to heal cold sores, it was just an “accidental” benefit I came across while using it.
The scent is really heavy, so any of you sensitive to perfumes or who are concerned about the chemicals in artificial fragrance, do not purchase this. It’s also very light and silky, so if you’re used to a thicker moisturizer, it might take you a while to get used to the consistency of this product, or you may feel the need to supplement with a secondary moisturizer.
Overall, I’m happy with the product. I do plan on purchasing it again. I’m curious to see how my skin looks after several months of use. One month just doesn’t feel like enough time. So how about this, we’ll check back in on it at the end of the third month. By then I should be able to get off the fence about the price. I guess this isn’t the final review!
Have you used Lancôme Visionnaire? What do you think about it? If you haven’t used it, do you want to try it now?
