LOVE IT: Amateur choreographed dance routines

Remember, oh, three years ago when that couple and their wedding party danced down the aisle to Chris Brown’s “Forever”?

For God’s sake, I can barely watch that dumb clip without crying and I’ve seen it at least fifteen times.  That video sparked my obsession with amateur choreographed dance routines.   You know, where people stage something and then post it on YouTube; it goes viral and the participants end up on a couch with Matt Lauer.  Lucky bastards.  Anyway, my favorite clips are the ones of a wedding/proposal variety.  Ever see the one where the father and brothers of the bride perform for the bride a dance to an OK Go song?  This one takes a little longer to warm up to and the video quality is atrocious, but….

.

 .

…how funny is it to see a bunch of lanky guys, plus a short, one-of-these-things-is-not-like-the-other dude, flopping around the dance floor?  Plus, they’re remarkably in sync.  This last video was posted just one week ago and has gone completely viral.  If you’ve seen it, enjoy again.  If not, prepare yourself for a treat.  And make sure you have a box of tissues handy.

How did they even do that?  She’s listening to music on her headphones, but is it also playing outside the car?  It must be, right?  Otherwise how do they know their cues?  Plus, do they just happen to have a bunch of exceptionally talented friends and family members?  No offense to any of my loved ones who may be reading this, but I could never pull this off.  See those parked cars?  They’d take out half my family–we don’t have the agility God gave a rock.

Tell us, what are your favorite viral videos?  We’d love to our collection of favorites!

  1. Words cannot describe how much I love these things.  However, I’m seriously worried that they are setting too high of standards for women.  How can I compete with that?

If I ever get married, there will definitely be a choreographed dance routine or two (or three) involved. Sadly, that’s a pretty big ‘if’ considering I literally have no love life.

That Ok Go performance was fantastic!
