What’s the deal with Disqus?

And what the heck is Disqus (pronounced discuss) you ask?  Glad you did!  Disqus is the commenting system full clutch, and big brother site Dappered, uses to get conversations started about what we post about.  Want to proclaim how much you love a dress we picked?  Disqus will let you do that.  Want to tell us how horrible our review on lipstick was?  Please don’t, but Disqus will let you do that.  Want to correct every spelling and grammatical error on the site?  We’ll consider that constructive criticism (nerd!), and Disqus will let you do that.

You can post comments with Disqus anonymously without signing up for a Disqus account.  Why do you still have to give your email though?  So, if needed, we the “administrators” can contact you.  If your language is inappropriate, you’re trying to sell something, or you’re just being downright mean, we’ll email you and ask you to stop.  But that is the only purpose your email serves.  Neither Disqus, nor full clutch or Dappered, are using your email address for marketing purposes.

So don’t be afraid to dive in and start or join a conversation.  In a few days, we’ll be hosting a giveaway for a gift certificate from Go2Girl Designs, with the gift certificate total increasing when certain comment thresholds are met.  Don’t worry, the thresholds will be easy.  More to come on that…

Just like this, only in the virtual world

Glad to seeing you use Disqus. Disqus is a real great comment system.

Oh yeah, you’ll get a thread increase. Hopefully you’ll get com regulars on other posts that are not giveaways.
