Love It: Julep Best Pedi Prep Ever!
Last year I was in San Diego for my best friends wedding. The morning of we were off for pedicures at Korean owned nail salon. Man, Korean and Vietnamese men and women have this trade down to an art-form. Anyhow, the woman working on my feet asked if I wanted some extra exfoliation, and seeing as it was early fall and I’d gone through an entire summer of sandals and bare feet, I quickly took her up on her offer. She proceeded to prep my feet, then filed tons of skin off my feet. Gross, I know, but I probably lost a couple of pounds just in skin weight that day. Well, perhaps not, but it sure looked like it! Afterwards my feet were as smooth as a baby’s behind. I loved it! And I wanted to get those results at home.
Just a few weeks ago I found this product online and decided to take it for a spin:
I think I have found what I am looking for. Paired with the Julep foot file, I had an experience in my bathroom last week much like the experience at the nail salon in southern California. Lots of skin came off, and a very smooth foot emerged from the murky depths of my summer worn tootsies. The Pedi Prep uses alpha hydroxy acids and chamomile to soften skin. After 2 to 4 minutes, just start sanding away with the foot file (or a similar sanding block). I was really amazed at not only how much callused skin was removed, but at how soft my feet were afterwards. Pair it up with The Best Pedi Creme Ever! for the full experience. Love it!
There is more to Julep than just these products. They also have a great line of nail polishes, and the Julep Maven Club to join if you want to receive new polishes and products on a monthly basis for $19.99. If you do join the club, you can skip any month as long as you let them know by the cutoff time (they’ll email you), or you can opt to send your selection of the month to a friend. The polish colors I’ve received thus far are really beautiful. One drawback though, the application brush leaves something to be desired. I don’t think it would pass muster with Beth. But the polish is vibrant and free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, and DBP. Try using code PENNY at check out to receive your first month for, you guessed it, a penny. Plus, if you sign up for the club, shipping will always be free for you, no matter the purchase. You can also buy 3, 6, or 12 months of prepaid club as a gift. Who doesn’t love pretty nails?
