Friend Recommends: La Roche-Posay Cleansing Gel
We’re back with another recommendation from our friends–or in this case–family. Cousin Ashley, who has extensive experience in the cosmetics and beauty industries, reviews La Roche-Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel.
1. What is the name of the product and where can you get it?
2 . What does the product do?
This product is incredible at not just cleansing, but removing all traces of makeup. It has the most amazing gel texture and really penetrates to loosen any dirt, oil, and cosmetics that may be suffocating your skin. It leaves your skin feeling not squeaky clean and not greasy, but perfectly refreshed and Ph balanced.
3. How long have you been using it?
I have been using this cleanser for about 2 years now. Trust me when I say I have used just about every single brand there is out there. I used to work as a representative for many major cosmetic companies as well as doing my own personal research, and nothing comes close to this cleanser. It was even sold out for months while I was in Amsterdam recently as it was the most popular cleanser in the pharmacies.
4. Why do I love it?
My skin is endlessly complicated, but mostly sensitive, acne-prone, and what I like to think of as misunderstood. This cleanser, along with other products in the La Roche Posay line, has reduced redness, irritation, and breakouts.
5. Why is it different from other products you’ve used?
I once had a doctor friend say to me after I had confessed my skin woes, “I think too many people use far too many products on their skin these days. It doesn’t have a chance to stabilize and recover, it’s being so over-stimulated all the time.” That really struck a chord with me, as I have had the inclination in the past to layer different serums and concoctions with the hope that all of it combined would be the lethal weapon I needed to finally make my skin back down and just behave. But after much trial and error, I see he was right and I decided to simplify my routine. It started with this cleanser, which keeps things like parabens, soap, and alcohol out of the formula. Instead, it uses ingredients like Poloxamer, a cleansing ingredient so mild it is used in contact lens solutions.
