Like A Glove
My hands are cold. And they will remain cold until I can once again wear short sleeves outdoors again next year. That’s how it goes for me when the weather turns. And the only relief for me this time of year is a hot shower (which five minutes after I’m out my hands are cold again), grasping a mug of hot liquid, or gloves. And since I can’t continuously take a hot shower for the next five months, and hot drinks tend to go cold, gloves might be the most reliable method I have at this point. Plus, they’re fun to shop for! Here are a few eye-catching pairs I found lurking around the interwebs…
You should be able to pick these girls up for much less than $35. They ship from Last Call by Neiman Marcus, and they are ALWAYS taking additional discounts off of products. You will have to pay for shipping for these, unless you purchase other items and get your cart total above $75. Then you can use code LCOCT75 to get that free shipping.
Color is the name of the game with these gloves sold by ModCloth. If you’re a blue kind of girl, and prefer stripes, these just might be the gloves for you this winter. Only problem is they’re 100% acrylic, so no wool for added warmth. As long as you’ve got pockets in a jacket to stick your hands in when needed, you should be just fine.
These gloves should be very comfortable. They’re made with a blend of wool, nylon, and angora to make them extra soft. The knit and button detail on the cuff, along with the available colors of cream and pink (shown), make these gloves very feminine.
The pick-stitching on these tech gloves adds great contrast. The sweet little bow adds a darling whimsical touch. And the tech ready fingertips? They allow you to use your tablet computer, touch screen phone, ATM screen, you name it, without removing your gloves. Or you could go with something like…
The drawback to these is cold fingers, but you can always layer a tight pair of gloves underneath. If you know you need use of your bare fingers, these slouchy armwarmer gloves are pretty handy. Plus, these gloves are comprised of 85% wool and 15% cashmere, a very warm and soft combination. Also available in pewter.
Another fun pair of gloves from ModCloth. These wool and angora cuties boast rhinestone studded buttons at the gathered cuffs. Make sure to wear these when the cuffs can actually be seen, and not hidden under your coat. Perhaps with a down vest and a long sleeved shirt tucked into the gloves?
Do you have small hands? Like freakishly small hands? Well, I have small hands. And finding gloves that actually fit has often been a challenge. Thank you Ralph Lauren for actually offering sizes in these gloves, plus great style to boot. Cashmere wool blend with suede piping and military details. And available in five colors.
These beauties sold by Shopbop cash in on the moto trend, yet they are very refined. You’ll give up on these lambskin gloves before they give up on you. Also available in black, and once again available in sizes. No inch’s-worth of glove stacking back over my finger before it even reaches the elevator button. Hooray!
