Macy’s Extra Special Sale
I don’t know what makes this sale extra special, besides the fact that Macy’s is telling me it is, but tis’ the season for trying to get stuff for less than normal! There are lots of items on sale, and to several you can apply code EXTRA at checkout for an additional 15-20% off. The code expires 12/10/12, but most of the sale prices run at least through the 20th. Per the usual with Macy’s, free shipping kicks in at $99 in your cart after all codes are applied. Here a few picks that you can either keep as a gift for yourself, or pass along to someone on your list.
Here’s a great deal on a cropped peacoat from Style&co. The faux leather trim breaks up the monotony of the camel color, and the club collar is super cute. There are no reviews yet, but my feeling is this might fit just a tad boxy. If you like boxy, great! If not, be prepared to have this coat tailored. Also available in black.
Guess Farnelli Boots – $118.40 ($139.30)
Rock these great looking boots with tights and a skirt or dress and you’re bound to get lots of compliments. I really like the “belt loop” detail at the front of the ankle, very visually appealing. And the scrunched look on the shaft is bohemian. These look like the boots of a gypsy dressage rider. Upper is leather, the rest is man-made.
Busy, but in a very eye-pleasing way. This hobo would make a great gift for any fashionista that likes the look of logo print on handbags. It is also available in black, which makes it harder to see the “MF” print all over the bag. The neutral tones and gold hardware make this bag work with anything from a tee shirt and jeans to a casual cocktail party.
HUE Two Tone Floral Tights – $8.99
This post was seriously starting to lack in color, but not anymore! These bright tights from HUE are the perfect way to add a pop of color to a solid color dress, and make a great stocking stuffer.
Instyler – $89.99 ($99.99 before mail in rebate)
Any shout-out’s for the Instyler hair tool? I’ve never used one, but heard good things. Positive reviews far outweigh the negative on Macy’s site. Maybe a fun new gadget to give a go?
Still on the hunt for a good party dress? Here’s a fabulous one from Tommy Hilfiger. The eyelet lace and peter pan collar give this dress a retro vibe. The length is really cute for cocktail, and the skirt pleats and button up back are so feminine. Add a dress cardigan for warmth.
Cashmere seems to be the official fabric of the holiday season. And why not? It’s soft, warm, and can be VERY expensive. The price on this sweater is pretty darn good for cashmere. I’m sure it won’t be the highest quality, but if you know someone that will give their cashmere a beating and then donate it to a thrift store next year, pick one of these up. Also available in petite.
This little cutie is perfect for a night out with friends when you don’t want to carry a purse around. Features an interior phone pocket, 3 card slots, and a slip pocket for some cash. Available in four colors, including purple!
Wouldn’t these look lovely paired with the right cocktail or evening dress? Or even at a spring wedding? I have a few of the London Blue topaz pieces from Macy’s and just love them. The blue is so vibrant and beautiful. A very nice set to have in your jewelry box for special occasions, but they can even work casually when separated and with the right outfit.
And for him? Here we have a nice cotton cashmere blend v-neck. It looks to run lean in the torso, which is good. If we’ve learned anything from Dappered, it’s that there shouldn’t be too much bulk in the middle. It will visually add more weight to his body. Available in several color options. The EXTRA 15-20% off code expires 12/10/12. Happy Shopping!
